Schipper & Co GmbH

Schipper & Co GmbH was a regional spirits producer based in Norden, Lower Saxony, Germany, known for creating traditional Northern spirits such as Schipper Aquavit, Schipper Wacholder, and the well-remembered Domino Weinbrand. Historical accounts from local residents indicate that the company operated on Neuer Weg, directly opposite the much larger distillery Doornkaat AG.

Over time, Schipper & Co became closely intertwined with Doornkaat - some say for tax reasons the distillery operations were formally separated, while in practice both companies shared management, facilities, or even the same address. Several products, such as Domino Weinbrand, were eventually bottled or distributed through larger firms like Pabst & Richarz.

By the 1990s, after Doornkaat’s decline, Schipper & Co disappeared from the market.
