Privatbrennerei Boente

Privatbrennerei Boente is a German spirits producer based in Recklinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, with a history dating back to 1830, when Wilhelm Heinrich Boente acquired a local inn and began distilling spirits. The business developed from a small inn with its own Korn distillery into a dedicated producer of spirits and liqueurs.

The distillery moved to a new production site at Am Stadion in Recklinghausen in 1985. Its range includes traditional Korn, herbal liqueurs, fruit liqueurs, brandies and other spirits, combining long-established recipes with newer products. Privatbrennerei Boente GmbH & Co. KG is responsible for the production and distribution of the spirits range.

The historic Boente premises in Recklinghausen’s old town are today occupied by Suberg’s bei Boente, a separately operated restaurant and house brewery. Spirits were distilled at this location from 1871 until 1988; the building later became a house brewery, which opened in its present form in 2011. Although the distillery and the house brewery share the Boente heritage, they operate as separate businesses today.
