Heiko Blume GmbH & Co.KG

Heiko Blume GmbH & Co. KG is a family-run spirits producer based in Friedeburg, East Frisia. Its history dates to 1950, when Karl Blume founded Ostfriesische Markenspirituosen. Production initially focused on Weizenkorn, with herbal liqueurs and Halbbitter added soon afterwards for what was then a largely regional market.

The range expanded considerably over the following decades. Spirits remained at the centre of the business, while the company also expanded into East Frisian tea and porcelain. Today its portfolio comprises more than 70 spirits specialities, distributed through food retailers and discount chains across Germany. The family business has continued into its third generation, with Frank and Arne Blume involved in its management.

The present Heiko Blume GmbH & Co. KG was established in 2008. As part of the corporate restructuring, it took over the entire assets of the earlier sole proprietorship Ostfriesische Markenspirituosen, Inhaber Heiko Blume, formally continuing the existing Friedeburg spirits business under the GmbH & Co. KG structure. The transfer was entered in the commercial register in January 2009.

The company remains active in Friedeburg. Its administration is at Russlandweg 16, while its factory outlet is located at Wieseder Straße 3. Heiko Blume continues to produce and market a broad range of spirits, including aquavit, Korn, herbal spirits and liqueurs, many of them closely tied to East Frisian and northern German drinking traditions.
