Alte Hausbrennerei Penninger GmbH is a traditional German distillery based in Waldkirchen, Bavaria. The company was founded in 1905 by Stefan Penninger, originally as a vinegar production business. Over time, it evolved across generations into a well-known producer of spirits and liqueurs, expanding into fruit brandies and herbal specialties made from regional ingredients.
Today, the family business is run by the fifth generation of the Penninger family and employs around 60 people. It is particularly known for its herbal liqueurs and traditional Bavarian spirits, including the famous "Blutwurz." In addition to production, Penninger operates a schnapps museum and visitor center, offering insights into traditional distillation methods. The brand is closely associated with Bavarian craftsmanship, regional identity, and long-standing family heritage.
