Coffee-Finished Aquavit is a limited-release variation of the Regnig Dag Aquavit. It begins with the same base spirit – distilled from 100% corn and infused with caraway, star anise, and coriander – but undergoes extended aging for about three years in a Bull Run bourbon barrel that had previously been used by a coffee roaster to season coffee beans.
This process imparts distinct roasted and earthy undertones, combining the spice-forward profile of aquavit with subtle notes of coffee, oak, and caramel. The result is a smooth, warming spirit with a rounded finish, ideal for cold weather and coffee pairings.
Originally released in early 2023, this edition was inspired by the Scandinavian fika tradition – a coffee break shared with friends – and was later retired in May 2024.
