Immortal Viking Aquavit is a custom aquavit created at Vintersol Distillery in London through its Aquavit & Gin School. It was developed by one of the school’s guests rather than as part of Vintersol’s regular commercial range. A bottle photographed by the distillery is labelled “Immortal Viking Aquavit”, dated 21 February 2024 and contains 500 ml.
Vintersol announced the bottling on 23 February 2024, describing it as a batch made with botanicals including dill, sumac, nettle and wakame seaweed. Dill provides the characteristic aquavit botanical, while sumac, nettle and wakame distinguish the recipe from Vintersol’s regular No.1 and No.2 expressions.
The release reflects the format of Vintersol’s Aquavit & Gin School, where participants develop their own botanical recipe, distil the spirit on a nanostill, and then blend, bottle, label and name their creation. Vintersol keeps these recipes on file and can reproduce additional bottles for participants.
Immortal Viking appears to have been produced as a small custom batch rather than a general retail release. The exact number of bottles was not stated, although Vintersol’s photograph shows at least two bottles from the batch.

About the producer
Vintersol Distillery
London, England, United Kingdom
Vintersol Distillery developed from Sasha Bladt-Cohen’s experiments with aquavit on a small copper still in southern France. What began as a personal interest was turned into a commercial project in 2019, when Bladt-Cohen committed himself to establishing and running the distillery full time. He is identified by current industry sources as Vintersol’s founder and serves as its CEO and distiller. The business moved into its present microdistillery in Putney, southwest London, in 2021, where Vintersol says it develops, distils and bottles its products by hand.
Aquavit remains the central part of the business. In a 2025 interview, Bladt-Cohen described aquavit as Vintersol’s primary spirit, alongside a smaller gin output. Production uses a 200-litre iStill, with an iStill Mini used for testing and small custom runs; the distillery later added six iStill Nano units for its distilling workshops. Production is comparatively small and is organised largely on a just-in-time basis, with new runs made as stocks of individual products decline.
The current team listed by Vintersol includes Sasha Bladt-Cohen, CEO and distiller; Brian Cohen, Chief Operations Officer; and Jacques Rouyer Guillet, Chief Digital Officer. Vintersol operates from a railway arch at Arch 25, Winthorpe Road in Putney. Although its range has expanded beyond aquavit, the distillery continues to present aquavit as the foundation of the project, with No.1 and No.2 Original Aquavit forming its core unaged expressions and separate work on cask-aged aquavit.
