Valhalla Premium Aquavit is produced in the Texas city of Katy, on the western side of Houston. Crafted in a Norwegian style, it is flavored with seven botanical components and then aged in oak. Sources mention the use of both American and French oak, which contributes to the spirit’s rich golden color.

The Valhalla brand has released the aquavit in small batches over several years. Beginning in 2019, production was carried out at MKT Distillery (Katy, Texas). Batch No. 5 was launched there in the summer of 2019, with its public release held on November 23, 2019, during a dedicated event at the distillery.

In 2020, the brand introduced Batch No. 6, noted for its deeper, darker hue. Valhalla Aquavit continued to appear at local Scandinavian events afterward, including the SACC Christmas celebration in 2021.

Among the published cocktail ideas is the Thor’s Hammer, which features Valhalla Aquavit mixed with lemon, mint, and simple syrup.
