Eckernförder Aquavit is a German aquavit bottled at 38% vol and sold in a 0.5 L format. The flavor profile follows the typical northern style, featuring caraway with a light dill note. The product is labeled as “handcrafted”, but no details about the actual distillation process or the source distillery are provided.
According to the bottle information, the aquavit was produced for HEINE Delikatessen GmbH & Co. KG in Eckernförde (Schleswig-Holstein). The company listed as Abfüller, or bottler, is Onyx Vertrieb, Borgwedel. Onyx Vertrieb is known primarily as a distributor and contract bottler. This suggests that Eckernförder Aquavit is a private-label product, bottled and packaged by Onyx Vertrieb, while the original distillery remains unidentified. As a result, the product fits into the category of regional, limited-distribution spirits with no verifiable production background.
