Aquavit No. 6 Barrique is a limited-release, barrel-aged aquavit from the historic Flensburg rum and spirits house Johannsen (Johannsen Rumhaus, Flensburg). The edition consists of 200 individually numbered bottles, each hand-filled.

The spirit was matured for eleven years in a single ash-wood cask, a notably long aging period for a German aquavit. Over this time, the original caraway-forward profile softened considerably, while the wood contributed a warm golden colour and a more rounded aromatic structure. The flavour shows mild herbal notes with subtle tones reminiscent of raisin and anisic spice, reflecting the extended interaction with the ash cask.

Aquavit No. 6 Barrique is bottled at 42.3% vol and is designed to be enjoyed at room temperature (around 18 °C), where the softened caraway, gentle sweetness, and barrel-derived depth are most evident. This release continues Johannsen’s long family tradition of producing northern German spirits, integrating regional style with unusually long cask maturation.
