AQUAVIT 500 is a limited-edition aquavit released to mark the 500th anniversary of Auerbachs Keller Leipzig, one of Germany’s oldest continuously operating restaurants. The aquavit was developed under the direction of Frank Wiegand in collaboration with Wilhelm Horn Markenspirituosen GmbH.

The spirit is distilled from caraway and dill and matured for one year in oak casks. Following barrel aging, the cask was taken on a Mediterranean sea voyage, traveling from Corsica via Montpellier to Sardinia aboard the sailing vessel “Sachsen Sail”, adding a maritime maturation element to the production.

AQUAVIT 500 is bottled at 40% vol. in 0.5-liter bottles. The total production is limited to 1,000 bottles. The release was created as a commemorative, restaurant-commissioned bottling and is distributed exclusively through Auerbachs Keller Leipzig.
