The aromatic profile is defined by fresh citrus notes combined with a balanced caraway component. Secondary notes include mint, and light impressions of fennel and anise. The caraway character remains noticeable in the finish.
NIMROD is the distillery’s line of “hunting spirits”; the name is derived from the hunter’s term Nimrod, referring to an enthusiastic, skilled hunter. Within this line, the distillery produces several spirits, including this akvavit, an egg liqueur, and a herbal distillate.

Augustusburger Edelbrände GmbH is a distillery based in Augustusburg in Saxony, a location often referred to as the “crown of the Ore Mountains”. The distillery produces fruit brandies, spirits and liqueurs, using mostly regional ingredients, including fruit from its own orchards.
Production begins with selecting ripe fruit for mash preparation. Fruit and botanicals are sourced primarily from local growers and from the distillery’s own cultivation areas. Raw materials are monitored by the distiller until they reach optimal maturity.
The distillation of fruit brandies is carried out on a still manufactured by Arnold Holstein, a well-known German producer of distillation equipment. The still is equipped with a copper base and a copper catalyst designed for highly aromatic distillates. This setup enables clean separation during distillation and supports aroma development.
The distillation process requires experience and precise control to obtain the intended aromatic profile. After distillation, the resulting spirits form the basis of the distillery’s product range, which includes premium fruit brandies, spirits, liqueurs and several specialty products.
