Rose Valley Aquavit

Germany Striegistal, Saxony, Germany
Barrel-Aged Aquavit

Rose Valley Aquavit is produced by Eric Brabant Feinbrandmanufaktur, a small distillery located in Striegistal, Saxony (Germany). The spirit is distilled in limited quantities – approximately 300 bottles per year.

The recipe follows a classic aquavit profile based on caraway, aniseed and coriander, complemented by a small addition of fruity pepper. All botanicals are macerated in a gentle cold extraction using carefully distilled neutral alcohol. The macerate rests for an extended period before distillation. After distillation, the aquavit is matured for 6 months in oak barrels.

The aromatic profile consists of caraway, aniseed, coriander and light pepper notes, followed by a long, warming caraway finish.

Rose Valley Aquavit is produced for direct consumption and is suitable as an aperitif or digestif.

Feinbrandmanufaktur Eric Brabant

Feinbrandmanufaktur Brabant is a small, family-run distillery located in Saxony, Germany. It was founded in 2016 by Eric Brabant and his spouse (together with their team) under the brand name Rose Valley.

The distillery produces a broad range of spirits: gin, vodka, rum, various fine brandies and liqueurs, as well as whisky and aquavit.

Their guiding principle is naturalness – using high-quality, mostly regional raw materials and avoiding artificial additives or flavorings.

In the case of whisky, the process begins with mashing of selected barley malts and water; after fermentation, the “wash” is double-distilled in a 170-litre pot still with attention to separating heads, hearts, and tails.

For maturation they use exclusively first-fill casks – each cask is used once, and after aging the whisky is bottled as single-cask, often at cask strength, with each bottle hand-numbered.

Feinbrandmanufaktur Brabant is small in scale: its annual production is about 2,000 litres.

The hand-crafted, small-batch approach applies to all their spirits.

The distillery also offers direct tasting, sales and tours: visitors can sample their spirits on-site, learn about raw materials, distillation and maturation, and buy bottles directly.
