Rossmann Albstadt Aquavit
Alzenau-Albstadt, Bavaria, Germany
Brennerei Rossmann Albstadt Aquavit is a small-batch aquavit made from a wheat distillate (Weizenbrand) infused with caraway and matured in a wooden cask. The barrel aging adds warmth, mild sweetness, and a rounded character to the spirit. According to the distillery, it is best enjoyed ice-cold, which highlights its clean grain profile and distinctive caraway aroma.
The aquavit is bottled at 40% ABV in 0.5 L, produced entirely by hand in limited quantities due to the distillery’s annual small-producer allowance.

Brennerei Rossmann Albstadt
Alzenau-Albstadt, Bavaria, Germany
Brennerei Rossmann in Alzenau-Albstadt is a family-run craft distillery with roots dating back to 1662, making it one of the oldest small distilleries in Bayern. The company focuses on producing high-quality fruit brandies, whiskies, gin, aquavit, and liqueurs, all made in small batches and largely by hand. Rossmann emphasizes natural aromas, traditional methods, and careful barrel maturation rather than mass production.
As a licensed Kleinbrennerei, its annual output is limited to about 300 liters of pure alcohol (roughly 800 liters at 40% ABV), ensuring exclusivity and seasonal availability. The distillery does not produce for third-party “Stoffbesitzer”, relying solely on its own raw materials.
Customers can taste products directly in the on-site “Schnapslädle”, visit during the annual Open Distillery Day (last Sunday in October), or book guided tastings for groups. Rossmann also prepares custom gift sets and ships seasonal orders for private and corporate clients.
