Angelburger Aquavit Gold is a German aquavit distributed by Pabst & Richarz Vertriebs GmbH in Minden. It is bottled at 37.5% ABV and sold in 0.7-liter format. The product is described by retailers as a “spiced yet mild” aquavit made from a blend of selected herbs, although no specific botanicals are disclosed.
The branding references the northern German region of Angeln, but the verified producer of record is Pabst & Richarz, and publicly available sources provide no further details about the distillation process, ingredients, or origin of the spirit itself. Because of this, Angelburger Aquavit Gold appears to be a private-label product with limited technical information, known primarily from retail listings rather than official documentation.
About the producer
Pabst & Richarz Vertriebs GmbH
Minden, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
Pabst & Richarz Vertriebs GmbH is a German spirits company based in Minden, North Rhine-Westphalia, and part of the Berentzen Group. The Pabst & Richarz name originated in 1969, when the Düsseldorf firm Hermann Pabst oHG and the Richarz distillery business in Königswinter were brought together as Pabst & Richarz KG. A contemporary European business report described both companies as West German distilleries and recorded the formation of the combined company in Düsseldorf.
Pabst & Richarz became part of Berentzen in 1988. The merger of I.B. Berentzen with Pabst & Richarz created the modern Berentzen Group and at the time made it the second-largest spirits producer in Germany. Berentzen describes the merger as bringing together its Korn-distilling tradition with the wine-distilling background of Pabst & Richarz.
Today Pabst & Richarz specializes in retailer brands, private-label spirits and export products. The company develops complete concepts for trading partners, including the liquid, bottle and label, and works across numerous spirits categories. Its Minden facilities can handle formats ranging from 20 ml miniatures to large-format bottles, as well as customized bottle decoration and labelling.
Minden is also the principal spirits-production site of the wider Berentzen Group. The group states that its spirits are produced there, while Pabst & Richarz is responsible for the group’s export and dealer-brand business. Pabst & Richarz itself reports a portfolio of more than 500 products, distribution to more than 50 countries, and more than 100 million bottles annually; total output from the Minden site across the group is substantially higher.
